Seagrass Indicator Update Released for Narragansett Bay, Little Narragansett Bay, and the Rhode Island Coastal Ponds
In November 2023, NBEP updated the Seagrass Indicator for Narragansett Bay and expanded the indicator to include Little Narragansett Bay and the Rhode Island Coastal Salt Ponds for the first time. This is the first update to the Seagrass Indicator since the publication of the State of Narragansett Bay and Its Watershed in 2017. The Seagrass Indicator is one of seven Bay Ecosystem Condition Indicators that NBEP and partners use to assess how estuarine ecosystems in the Narragansett Bay Region are responding to management actions and climate change.
